5000mAh vs 10000mAh Power Banks: Which Should You Choose?
The honest answer is that capacity is the least interesting difference between these two. Weight and price separate them far more sharply, and both matter more for a corporate gift.
mAh in simple language
mAh (milliampere-hour) is how much charge the battery stores. 10,000 mAh stores about twice what 5,000 mAh does. It does not tell you how many phone charges you get, because conversion losses, cable quality and the recipient's own battery all intervene.
Portability vs capacity
Larger capacity means a larger, heavier body, and on these two models the gap is bigger than the capacity gap suggests. The 5,000 mAh mini is 166 g; the 10,000 mAh wireless model is 400 g. Double the capacity, nearly two and a half times the weight.
That is the real decision for a giveaway. A 166 g unit goes in a pocket and gets carried. A 400 g unit goes in a bag, and at an exhibition where visitors are already carrying things, weight is what decides whether your gift is kept or left on a table.
Real charging varies
The number of charges depends on your phone battery, energy lost in conversion, cable quality and charging method (wired or wireless). A 5,000 mAh power bank does not always give exactly one or two full charges, and I will not claim it. Wireless charging is generally less efficient than wired.
Side-by-side table
| Mini Powerbank 5000 mAh | Wireless Power Bank 10000 mAh | |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity | 5,000 mAh | 10,000 mAh lithium polymer |
| Wireless charging | No | Yes, suction pads, plus USB and Type-C |
| Dimensions | 90 x 63 x 13 mm | 142 x 70 x 16 mm |
| Weight | 166 g | 400 g |
| Colours | Black, white | Black, white |
| Branding | Printing or engraving, up to 50% of the area | Multi-colour logo print |
| 1 piece | AED 61 | AED 129 |
| 100 pieces | AED 2,872 (AED 28.72 each) | AED 7,988 (AED 79.88 each) |
| Minimum order | 1 piece | 1 piece |
Both prices include the branding; they are the configurator totals, not the hardware alone.
The cost gap is the real constraint
At a hundred pieces the wireless model costs AED 79.88 each against AED 28.72, so roughly 2.8 times as much for twice the capacity. Put differently: the budget that buys 100 wireless units buys about 278 of the mini.
So the question is not which is the better power bank. It is whether reaching 278 people with a pocketable charger does more for you than reaching 100 people with a heavier one that charges without a cable.
Which suits what
Mini 5,000 mAh for exhibition visitors, conference delegates, staff handouts and any case where volume matters. Light, cheap enough to give freely, and small enough to be carried rather than abandoned.
Wireless 10,000 mAh for named client gifts, senior staff and awards, where you are giving one object to one person and it should feel substantial. The wireless pad and the Type-C port make it the better object; the weight and the price make it the wrong giveaway.
