How to Prepare Artwork for Custom Ribbon Printing

By Sonam S. August 26, 2026 2 Views No comments

Prepare your file before you open the ribbon order page and its artwork upload.

Use vector files

PrintOnline asks: "Submit a vector PDF, AI or EPS file where possible." Vector artwork keeps edges sharp at any size. Convert text to outlines so fonts do not change. No other formats or resolution minimums are listed, so ask on WhatsApp (+971 52 383 1019) if you only have a JPG or PNG.

Logo size

Your artwork must fit inside the ribbon width with margin. Widths are 1 cm, 0.5 inch and 1 inch. PrintOnline does not publish artwork size limits, so pick the width first: choosing the right width.

Small text

Very small text, thin strokes and fine detail may not print cleanly on narrow ribbon. Simplify, enlarge or drop the tagline. PrintOnline publishes no minimum font size, so judge it on the mockup.

Repeat spacing

Decide how far apart each repeat of your logo or text sits. Too tight looks crowded; too loose wastes the printed area. Repeat options are not something you set on the page, so state your preference in the comment or ask.

One- vs two-colour artwork

Options are 1 colour or 2 colours, one side only, no full colour. Reduce your logo to flat colours and label colour 1 and colour 2. See one vs two colours.

Material colour selection

Ribbon colour is chosen by code from the Color Options Catalog in the product images (7-character field). Write the code carefully and check contrast against your print colours. Exact colour matching and Pantone availability are not confirmed; contact PrintOnline.

Proof approval

A mockup must be approved before production, and the page refers to a 24-hour approval window. Check spelling, spacing, colours, width and orientation. Once approved, you are approving the file as shown.

Confirm the delivery date before committing to an event

Production starts after approval, normal production is 5 working days, courier is 1 to 2 days after, and the calculator allows one working day for mockup approval. It excludes Sundays and listed public holidays. Delays can occur if artwork is not approved within 24 hours, for stock or technical issues, and for remote or changed addresses. Use the calculator and confirm the date before paying, especially for weddings and launches with a fixed date. A free design consultation and a Canva option are available if you need help.
