Custom Branded Ribbon for Retail Packaging and Corporate Gifts

By Sonam S. July 21, 2026 3 Views No comments

A branded ribbon turns plain packaging into your own. PrintOnline prints logos and text on its custom printed ribbon: one side, one or two colours, 25-yard rolls, minimum five rolls.

Boutiques and gift shops

Tie ribbon on tissue-wrapped purchases and small boxes. A slim width with the logo repeated keeps the look elegant rather than loud. Pair it with personalized kraft paper bags or personalized bags and backpacks so the bag and ribbon match.

Bakeries

Ribbon on cake boxes and pastry boxes is a low-cost branding touch. A wider ribbon reads better from across a counter, so this is one of the cases where 1 inch earns its cost. Choose a ribbon colour that contrasts with your box.

Product packaging

Use ribbon as a seal or a wrap on boxes. PrintOnline also lists a foldable gift box with magnetic closure and ribbon handle. That box comes with its own ribbon handle, so it is a separate product rather than something your printed roll feeds into; if you want the two to match, raise it when you order.

Client gifts and employee gifts

Browse PrintOnline's corporate gifts and finish each gift with your own branded ribbon. One ribbon across a mixed set is the cheapest way to make it look like a single programme rather than an assortment.

Promotional hampers

A hamper with several items looks unified when each item is tied with the same ribbon.

Prepare your logo

Submit a vector PDF, AI or EPS file where possible, and use a one- or two-colour version of the logo rather than the full-colour one. See artwork preparation and one vs two colours.

Choose a ribbon width

Match width to the pack: slim for small boxes and jars, wider for hampers and large boxes. A long name needs a wider ribbon. See choosing the right width.

Plan the quantity

One roll is 25 yards, about 22.9 metres, and the minimum printed order is five rolls, so the smallest real order gives you roughly 114 metres.

There is no published guideline for how much ribbon a pack uses, so measure one. Tie a typical box the way you actually want it finished, cut, and measure the length. Multiply by your monthly pack count, add a margin for waste and bows, and you have a defensible number. As a rough check, 114 metres at 40 cm a pack is about 285 packs.

Worth pricing the next tier up while you are there: fifty rolls works out at AED 30.00 each against AED 50.00 at five rolls, so the cost of ordering ahead is much lower than the cost of reordering twice.

Repeated branding

A repeated logo means the brand appears wherever you cut the roll, which is the whole point of printed ribbon over a printed label. Check the repeat spacing on your mockup. Production starts only after artwork approval, so plan restocking dates from approval rather than from payment.
