Company Stamp Requirements in the UAE: Documents, Rules and Restrictions
A company stamp carries the legal identity of a licensed business, so UAE stamp makers apply strict rules before producing one. Meeting them up front is the difference between a stamp that ships in three days and an order that stalls on a missing document. Here is what is required to order a company stamp in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or anywhere in the UAE.
Documents you must provide
- Valid UAE trade licence copy. Mandatory for every company name stamp. Mainland (DED, ADDED, SEDD) and all free zone licences are accepted. An expired licence is not.
- Emirates ID of the person ordering. May be requested to confirm the order is placed by or for the licensed company.
- Logo file in vector or PDF format if a logo is to appear on the stamp. Screenshots and low-resolution JPGs do not engrave cleanly.
Text rules
- The company name must match the trade licence exactly. Abbreviations, trading names not on the licence, or altered spellings cannot be produced.
- Arabic and English are both allowed on one stamp; the Arabic name should follow the licence.
- Licence number, TRN, phone, email, website and address are optional additions. Keep the total to what fits legibly on the chosen size; the impression is up to 2 mm smaller than the stamp body.
- For two-colour stamps, coloured elements need a 2 mm gap, and the smallest solid colour block is 7 x 7 mm.
Stamps that cannot be produced
To prevent misuse, PrintOnline does not make stamps for government departments, schools, colleges, banks or financial institutions, does not make stamps for companies registered outside the UAE, and does not produce fake, duplicate or altered-name stamps. Raised embossing seals for notaries and institutions are a separate product with their own authority requirements; see company stamp vs embossing seal.
Is a company stamp legally required?
No UAE federal law lists a stamp as a condition of incorporation, but banks, ministries, free zone authorities, Ejari and most business partners require stamped documents, so every operating company ends up needing one. The complete company stamp guide covers this in detail.
Ready to order?
Once your licence copy and text are ready, follow the step-by-step ordering guide or go straight to the company stamp offer page. Stamps are produced in 3 working days (1 day express) and delivered across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the rest of the UAE (see the emirate-by-emirate guide). Choosing between a self-inking stamp and other options is covered in its own guide.
