Crystal Awards in Dubai: A Complete Buying Guide
This guide uses PrintOnline's own crystal awards category and the blue and transparent crystal award, which is the model specified in most detail and a good reference point for the range.
Award shapes
The category lists these shapes: star, flame, teardrop, shield, octagon, hexagon, diamond, iceberg and 3D cube. Other listed products include heptagon, rhombus, rectangle, round, tower, cuboid and a round moon shape.
Sizes
The category describes a range running "from compact 18.5cm plaques to 29cm pieces", and individual models publish their own sizes. The blue and transparent award, for example, comes in three:
| Size | Dimensions | From |
|---|---|---|
| Small | 15 x 25 cm | AED 150 |
| Medium | 19 x 30 cm | AED 175 |
| Large | 21 x 35 cm | AED 275 |
Two other models give their size in the product name: the heptagon award at 13x19 cm and a personalized crystal award at 16 x 23 cm. Thickness and weight are not published for any model, so ask if you are shipping a large batch. See how to choose the right size.
Crystal vs acrylic
Every product in this category is sold as crystal; acrylic and glass awards are separate product types on the site. Crystal feels heavier and reads as more premium in the hand, which is most of what an award is doing; acrylic is lighter and cheaper.
The exact crystal grade is not published. If you are answering a tender or a brief that specifies optical crystal, ask PrintOnline to confirm the specification in writing rather than assuming it.
Personalization methods
Engraving is done in-house, either surface etched or 3D laser inside the crystal. Printing is also offered: on the blue and transparent award you choose a printing technique (laser etching, or a transparent 4-colour sticker application) and a branding option (frosting, white or clear printing).
That 4-colour sticker route matters if your logo needs its brand colours, because engraving and etching produce a single frosted tone and cannot carry colour. Proofs, including Arabic text, are provided before cutting. Full comparison: engraving vs printing on crystal awards.
Bases and presentation boxes
Marble, wood and metal bases add weight and give a second surface for the recipient's name, which frees the crystal face for the logo.
On boxes: several models name one in the product title (star-top with wooden box, crystal and marble with mahogany box, and others), and the blue and transparent award includes a presentation box as standard. Confirm it per model rather than assuming, because it affects both price and the size of what you carry to the venue.
Price factors
The blue and transparent award starts from AED 150.00. Other listed prices in the category:
| Product | Listed price (AED) |
|---|---|
| Personalized 3D Cube Crystals | 27.25 |
| Personalized Crystal Diamond Awards | 34.75 |
| Personalized Inclined Rectangular Crystal Awards | 36.75 |
| Personalized Wood and Crystal Awards | 61.75 |
| Carved Edges Round Shape Crystal Awards (Octagon) | 65.00 (from) |
| Personalized Shield / Hexagon / Flame Crystal Awards | 67.75 |
| Personalized Crystal Awards (16 x 23 cm) | 105.25 |
| Heptagon Shape Crystal Awards (13x19cms) | 144.00 |
| Blue and Transparent Crystal Award | 150.00 (from) |
| Crystal and Marble Award with Mahogany Box | 205.00 (from) |
| Star Top Crystal Trophy with Wooden Box (variable data) | 310.00 (from) |
Those category figures are starting prices and do not state a quantity, so read the real price on the product page. The blue and transparent award shows how the tiers actually behave:
| Quantity | Small (15x25) | Medium (19x30) | Large (21x35) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | AED 150 | AED 175 | AED 275 |
| 5 | AED 535 | AED 630 | AED 1,095 |
| 10 | AED 1,020 | AED 1,200 | AED 2,100 |
Per award that is AED 150 down to AED 102 on the small size, AED 175 down to AED 120 on the medium, and AED 275 down to AED 210 on the large. The discount is real but modest, roughly a third: awards do not behave like pens, where volume transforms the unit cost. Budget close to the single-unit price.
Order quantities and different names
There is no bulk minimum: the blue and transparent award can be ordered from a single piece, with tiers published up to 10. For a larger ceremony, ask for a quote rather than splitting the order.
If each award needs a different name, that is a standard option rather than a special request. The blue and transparent award offers variable data at AED 15 per award, so ten awards with ten different names costs AED 150 on top of the award price. A separate star-top model is also listed specifically for variable data. Planning: ordering personalized corporate awards.
Artwork
Send a vector logo, simplified for a single-tone mark unless you are using the colour sticker route. Guide: preparing artwork.
Production timing and delivery
Standard production is 5 working days, with an urgent option dispatching in 48 hours for a surcharge that scales with the order, from AED 25 on a single award up to AED 400 on a larger batch.
Production starts after artwork approval, and the delivery calculator accounts for artwork preparation as well as production. Delivery is to Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman city limits or other Emirates including Abu Dhabi, by courier 1 to 2 days after production, or by special driver within 6 working hours (AED 50) or 10 working hours (AED 150). Check the calculated date before you pay.
One thing to know before you approve a proof
PrintOnline states it plainly on the product page: engraving can produce small variations or light spots on the crystal surface. That is the nature of cutting into crystal, not a defect, but it matters if your design has large solid areas where a blemish would show. If that is a risk for your artwork, ask about the printed finishes instead, which sit on the surface rather than in it.
Questions still worth asking per model
- Thickness and weight, if you are shipping or carrying a batch.
- Whether that specific model supports 3D laser inside the crystal, which suits thicker blocks.
- Whether a box is included, for models that do not say so in the title.
- The crystal grade, if a tender specifies it.
